Committees of the Session and their duties are:

Administration Team Statement of Purpose:

  • To provide for the management of the property of the church, including the determination of the appropriate use of church buildings and facilities and to maintain appropriate upkeep and maintenance that allows for the continuation of church ministries.

  • Working with ministry teams, team will create a budget on a yearly basis for the church. This team will review insurance policies, as needed, and file claims on behalf of the church. The team will oversee church endowments and make recommendations for investing.

  • To oversee and support the pastor and staff in their work on behalf of the church, including personnel concerns, fair employment practices, personnel policies, and the annual review of non-ordained staff (along with the pastor).

  • To encourage the people of God to embrace the responsibility of Christian stewardship of money and time and talents, and to develop effective ways for gathering the offerings of the people. Team will explore new giving opportunities (gift annuities, endowments, etc.)

Worship, Music, and Christian Education Team Statement of Purpose:

  • To assist the ministerial staff in making sure regular and special worship services remain orderly yet spontaneous, consistent with God’s Word and open to the newness of God’s future. Ensures the worship service engages the congregation in glorifying God and enriches the congregation’s spiritual life.

  • To plan, organize and implement on-going Christian education programming for children, youth, and adults. Provide opportunities for members and visitors to strengthen their own spiritual formation by providing and/or promoting educational opportunities at the church and in the presbytery. Team will maintain educational resources, such as the church library and computer labs.

Parish Family Team Statement of Purpose:

  • To nurture the sick, the elderly, the grieving, the sorrowful and those in distress after the example of Jesus Christ. This is completed through home and hospital visitation, prayer, greeting cards, and extending hospitality at funerals. To outwardly show love to all by making fellowship times meaningful. Creating a hospitable atmosphere for members and visitors, we seek to share Christ’s love with those who gather in our church.

Mission & Community Outreach Team Statement of Purpose:

  • The Mission Team reaches out to individuals and groups in need, with God’s help, to those people in our church, community and in the world.

  • Increase involvement by maintaining a welcome program for visitors, building relationships with members and individuals to encourage participation in the church, creating a positive presence in the community, and investigating new outreach ministries for our church.
