As a congregation, we trace our roots back to the year 1876 when a group of Welsh immigrants arrived in the lumbering town of DuBois. Our congregation began in that year with a mere 10 people. Since then we have served the DuBois community through ministries and missions including home delivered meals, educational opportunities for all ages, community events such as musical concerts and dinners, and through the many civic responsibilities of our members.
For 130 years First United Presbyterian Church has faithfully served God and we trust that God will continue to work in us and through us in the coming days and years. Each day members are encouraged to seek ways to serve God, using the gifts God has given them and proclaim God’s goodness and grace to all. The congregation is planning for and participating in the future of God’s ministry through renovations to our buildings and community outreach programs.
